Job summary

The Nutrition Group is seeking a substitute food service worker for a local school kitchen. This on-site role involves cooking, portioning, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness in a fast-paced environment. You will ensure compliance with USDA guidelines and assist with inventory and cost controls.

Strong reading and math skills, reliable transportation, and a willingness to learn are essential. Prior food service experience is preferred and computer literacy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for service.

About the Job:

This substitute food service worker position will be working in a local school kitchen/cafeteria on anas-needed basis.

Duties may include:

• Cooking andfood preparation
• Portioning and serving food
• Sanitation in conjunction with USDA and state guidelines
• HAACP and health department regulation compliance
• Assisting to monitor costs and inventory controls
• Operating a cash register/money handling
• Manual Dishwashing/ Cleaning duties

Qualifications:

• Must obtain clearances and pass criminal background checks
• Ability to read recipes and basic math skills required
• A positive and consistent work ethic
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• A willingness to learn and grow within your position
• Food service experience preferred
• Computer literacy preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Requirements May Include:
