Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis is seeking a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II for a full-time evening shift (10am–8:30pm) with potential 4/10s and no weekends.

The role emphasizes accurate testing, quality control, instrument maintenance and staff training across blood and other specimens, with opportunities for growth in a Magnet-designated lab. A BS in physical or life science and ASCP or equivalent are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical or life science required.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required or eligible.
• No supervisory experience required (entry-level).

Responsibilities

• Operates laboratory instrumentation to deliver accurate results.
• Trains new staff in methods and equipment.
• Performs quality controls and troubleshoots instrument issues.
• Records patient test results in the LIS with turnaround times.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
