Job summary

St. Louis Children's Hospital Core Laboratory is seeking a Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II to perform specimen processing and routine/complex testing on blood and other specimens.

The role emphasizes quality control, instrument maintenance, and proper documentation to ensure accurate patient results. Responsibilities include operating all instrumentation, training staff, performing quality controls, reporting results, and contributing to performance improvement

Qualifications

• BS in physical or life science field.
• ASCP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Operates instrumentation to deliver precise, timely lab results.
• Trains new laboratory personnel in methods and use of equipment.
• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Reports patient test results accurately through the lab information system, meeting turnaround times.
• Engages in performance improvement activities to diagnose and resolve problems.
