Job summary

BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL is seeking a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II to join the laboratory. The role involves specimen processing and routine/complex testing with emphasis on quality control and documentation, in a 24/7 laboratory environment across multiple disciplines.

The position offers an evening shift (10am-8:30pm) with potential 4,10s and a full-time schedule. Benefits eligible and sign-on bonus eligible as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical or Life Science field.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
• Trains new laboratory personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment.
• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
• Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and initiatives.
