Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks a Medical Lab Technician II (REG) to join the lab team. The role involves specimen processing, routine and complex testing, quality control, and timely reporting of results to support patient care.

The position is full-time with a 40-hour week, day shift, and rotating weekends; ASCP/MLS certification is preferred. Location includes hospital labs in St. Louis with potential float to other lab sites.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a physical or life science field is required.
• MLT-ASCP, MLS-ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Demonstrates strong specimen collection and processing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Reports and maintains records of patient test results in the LIS with timely turn-around.
• Documents quality issues and initiates corrective actions.
• Performs quality controls and troubleshoots instrumentation as needed.
• Operates instrumentation to deliver accurate lab results and conducts testing.
