Job summary

New York Medical College's Office of Student Mental Health & Wellness seeks an Assistant Director, MSW Intern Education Program, to lead and oversee the internship education program while maintaining a full clinical caseload and providing supervision.

The role collaborates with the Associate Vice Chancellor, ensuring high-quality, ethical, and developmentally appropriate care and coordination with graduate schools, Deans, and campus partners.

Qualifications

• Licensed Mental Health Professional with NYS licensure in good standing.
• Ten years of clinical experience post-licensure.
• Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA in an academic setting.
• SIFI Certification preferred.
• Experience in academic health professions education.
• Ability to supervise MSW interns and coordinate clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead MSW intern supervision and education programs.
• Deliver short-term individual therapy and needs-based assessments.
• Crisis intervention and triage.
• Maintain caseload and terminate as clinically indicated.
• Coordinate with Deans and student support staff.
• Develop trainings and onboarding materials for interns.
• Maintain FERPA/HIPAA compliance in daily practice.
• Participate in campus engagement and wellness initiatives.
• Lead weekly staff meetings and reporting to AVC.
• Oversee intern selection and progress and liaise with Graduate Schools.
