Job summary

Aktion Associates Inc. seeks a Field Network Engineer to design, implement, and support client network, cloud, and server infrastructure for a variety of MSP customers. You will serve as a Technology Advisor, driving improvements with the latest cybersecurity and cloud solutions.

You will deliver advanced Microsoft 365 engineering and consulting, including migrations, security hardening, licensing, and user adoption across multiple environments. Travel up to 20-30% locally is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in fielded IT support for networks, servers and systems.
• Strong skills with configuring and maintaining firewalls, switches, and wireless access points (SonicWall, Meraki).
• Experience with Microsoft 365 security, messaging and licensing.
• Proficiency with cybersecurity platforms such as SentinelOne, ThreatLocker, Duo or similar.
• Knowledge of Sage 300 CRE is helpful but not required; other related IT tools are a plus.

• Balance multiple customer requests, small projects, and meetings while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Occasional after-hours and weekend availability as needed.

Job description

Role and Responsibilities

• Work as a Field Network Engineer who has some experience working with a Managed Service Provider, architecting, monitoring, and maintaining client technology network, cloud, and server infrastructure.
• Serve as a Technology Advisor, meeting frequently to discuss opportunities to improve the client’s environment with the latest technology, including CyberSecurity and cloud-based solutions to support customer goals.
• Provide advanced Microsoft 365 engineering and consulting services across multiple client environments, including architecture, migrations, troubleshooting, security hardening, licensing, and user adoption initiatives.
• Balance multiple customers’ requests, smaller projects, and necessary meetings while meeting customer satisfaction expectations.
• Flexibility for working after business hours and weekendsis required at times.

Education, Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience working with customer support in the field of computer systems, servers, and networking in a Managed Services or similar computer consulting field.
• Candidates should have strong skills in the following: Network skill sets, configuring maintaining, and other vendors (i.e., SonicWall, Meraki) firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. Microsoft M365 range of products focusing on messaging and security solutions. Current certifications in any of these technologies will be highly considered.
• Required proficiency with cybersecurity platforms such as SentinelOne, ThreatLocker, Duo, or comparable enterprise security solutions.
• Experience with Sage 300 CRE would be very helpful but not required for this role.
• Other skills such asSAGE 300 & 100, Linux,SAN Storage, Mobile deployments, FACTS, and Disaster Recovery would-be a plus but not required.
• Willing to travel locally 1-2 days a week may be required but the ability to work and solve most technical issues through remote support is a must.
