Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the practice with nursing care, specimen collection, venipuncture, and patient prep for exams and procedures. You will assist providers, triage calls and walk-ins, and perform routine lab tasks in a compliant, patient-centered environment.

Certification is preferred; if not yet certified, completion of an accredited program is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA or RMA preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to practice patients and assist in exams and procedures.
• Perform lab work and venipuncture; ready patients for exams.
• Assist providers with examinations and treatments; administer injections as ordered.
• Coordinate patient calls and walk-ins in emergent situations; ensure compliance with policies.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Job Summary:

In this role you will assist in providing nursing care to the practice patients; help maintain the functions of a medical group practice; provide direct patient care by doing lab work and venipuncture; readying patients for exams; assisting providers with exams and procedures, and administering injections and treatments as orders. Coordinates patient calls/walk-ins in emergent situations. Assists in other functions of the medical group practice as needed. Tasks performed are in compliance with department and policies and procedures, and within educational preparation.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

Minimum: High School diploma or GED.

Required Experience:

Minimum: No experience required if medical assistant program has been completed and certification received.

Preferred: Two or more years of patient care, giving injections, working labs, etc. in an outpatient setting.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Minimum: Medical Assistant Certification.

Preferred: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
