Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) seeks a Medical Assistant to support outpatient nursing care, perform injections, venipuncture, and basic lab work, and assist providers with exams and procedures.

The role includes preparing patients for visits, coordinating calls and walk-ins in urgent situations, and complying with department policies and credential verification. TMH is an equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum: Medical Assistant Certification.
• Preferred: CCMA or RMA certification.
• No experience required if medical assistant program completed and certified.
• Two or more years of patient care in outpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing nursing care to practice patients; support medical group operations.
• Provide direct patient care by performing lab work and venipuncture and preparing patients for exams.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures, administer injections and treatments as ordered; coordinate patient calls/walk-ins in emergent situations.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Minimum: High School diploma or GED.

Required Experience:

Minimum: No experience required if medical assistant program has been completed and certification received.

Preferred: Two or more years of patient care, giving injections, working labs, etc. in an outpatient setting.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Minimum: Medical Assistant Certification.

Preferred: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
