Des Moines Public School District HIATT MIDDLE in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a MS Head Boys Soccer Coach (Stipend) to lead the middle school program. The stipend for this position is $2,198.

The role requires an Iowa coaching endorsement or coaching authorization and a background in coaching or leadership, with duties spanning practice planning, player development, and compliance with district policies. The position is part-time and involves coordinating with the athletics director and school

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization.
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• Coaching and/or leadership experience.
• First Aid and CPR.
• Knowledge of conference rules and regulations.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Bachelor's Degree in education, coaching or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the athletic program as the manager and point person for DMPS athletic activities.
• Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time for player development.
• Coach and instruct players on rules, equipment, and techniques of soccer.
• Ensure compliance with state, regional, and district athletic regulations.
• Maintain written standards of student behavior and supervise athletes at all times.
• Schedule facilities in coordination with the Director of Activities.
• Monitor the academic performance of team members to meet eligibility requirements.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding athletic performance as needed.
• Model sportsmanlike conduct and proper behavior toward players, officials and spectators.
