Job summary

Hiatt Middle School in Des Moines, IA seeks an MS Head Girls Soccer Coach (Stipend) to assist the Head Coach and lead practices, emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The role is a stipend position supporting the athletic program at Hiatt Middle.

Required Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization, strong communication, and coaching/leadership experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Reports to the Director of Activities and School Equity.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization.
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• Coaching and/or leadership experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in education, coaching or related field.
• Knowledge of overall operations of an athletic program.
• First Aid and CPR.
• Knowledge of conference rules and regulations.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the district athletic program.
• Develop regular practice schedules for individual and team development.
• Coach players on rules, equipment, and techniques.
• Ensure compliance with state and district regulations.
• Maintain records, schedules, and eligibility forms.
• Coordinate facility scheduling with administration.
• Monitor academic performance for eligibility.
• Communicate with families about athletic performance.
