Job summary

Hiatt is seeking a MS Assistant Boys Soccer Coach (Stipend) in Des Moines, IA. This part-time role supports the head coach, instructing players and coordinating alongside the athletic staff to promote skill development and sportsmanship.

The position requires Iowa coaching endorsement or authorization, strong communication skills, and prior coaching/leadership experience. Desirable credentials include First Aid/CPR, knowledge of conference rules, and CDL.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization.
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• Coaching and/or leadership experience.
• First Aid and CPR (desired).
• Knowledge of conference rules and regulations (desired).
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (desired).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in the operation of the athletic program.
• Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport as determined by the head coach.
• Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
• Provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.
• Participates in organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to join the sport.
• Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and other related duties as determined by the Head Coach.
• Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met as determined by the Head Coach.
• Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Participates in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Attends staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
• Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
• Assist with other duties as may be assigned
