Job summary

Avantor in Phillipsburg, NJ is seeking a Buyer/Planner to manage all aspects of production planning, including detailed master and 4-week schedules, and material requirements planning. This full-time, onsite role collaborates with sourcing, production, quality, procurement, distribution, marketing and customer service to optimize costs and service levels.

The candidate will handle purchasing activities, issue SAP process orders, and align assets/resources for weekly schedules while supporting

Qualifications

BA/BS required in supply chain management or related field.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years in production planning.
APICS/ASCM certification a plus.
Experience utilizing SAP for planning/material movement preferred.
Chemical or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
Experience in a regulated environment such as cGMP, ISO, or FDA is a plus.
Excellent multitasking, follow-up, and execution of assignments.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the master production schedule and 4-week detailed plan.
Place purchase orders and coordinate material movements within SAP.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production with demand.
Monitor schedules, asset utilization, and lead times to optimize service levels.
Back up other planners across North America as needed.
