A fast-growing manufacturer in the clean technology and advanced manufacturing industry is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage both Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) and Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) procurement across multiple U.S. production sites. This role will be responsible for sourcing critical maintenance supplies and coordinating large-scale equipment investments in support of new production lines, facility upgrades, and automation systems.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of both day-to-day operational purchasing and long-term capital procurement, with experience in a technical or industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
MRO Procurement (Primary Focus):
- Source and manage suppliers for industrial spare parts, tools, safety supplies, and maintenance materials.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to support uptime and cost efficiency.
- Analyze historical data and forecast demand in collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Ensure inventory control and compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Drive process improvements for purchase requisition (PR) to purchase order (PO) workflows.
CAPEX Procurement (Secondary Focus):
- Lead procurement efforts for capital investments including new production equipment, facility upgrades, and emerging technologies.
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop RFPs/RFQs, evaluate proposals, and negotiate large-scale contracts.
- Manage vendor relationships, monitor installation timelines, and oversee warranty compliance and post-delivery support.
- Ensure alignment with financial objectives and ROI expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with engineering, finance, legal, and logistics teams to align procurement strategy with project timelines and compliance needs.
- Coordinate cross-border shipping, customs requirements, and project documentation for imported equipment.
- Report on procurement activity, including spend tracking, risk mitigation, and vendor performance metrics.
Cost Optimization & Compliance:
- Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors and standardize supply contracts across locations.
- Maintain adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., ITAR, GAAP, EPA).
- Generate reports on cost savings, supplier performance, and capital utilization.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MRO and CAPEX procurement, ideally within industrial or high-tech manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success managing capital projects valued at $500K+, including vendor negotiation and project oversight.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools (e.g., Coupa, Ariba).
- Strong financial literacy to assess ROI, depreciation, and budget alignment.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
Preferred:
- Background in clean energy, solar manufacturing, semiconductors, or comparable high-capital industries.
- $66,000–$89,000/year, depending on experience
- Bonus eligibility up to 10% of annual salary
