A leading company in Fort Mill is seeking an MRO Buyer to manage procurement of materials and capital assets for solar PV manufacturing. The role involves supplier management, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize costs and compliance. Join a dedicated team focused on innovation and quality.
Source and manage suppliers for MRO materials such as spare parts, safety supplies, electrical components, and tools for solar PV manufacturing equipment.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to ensure reliable, cost-effective supply chains.
Analyze historical usage data and forecast demand to minimize downtime and optimize inventory.
Ensure procurement activities meet safety, environmental, and industry quality standards.
Drive process optimization from purchase request to purchase order.
Lead procurement of capital assets including new manufacturing equipment, facility upgrades, and automation systems.
Collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to define requirements, develop RFPs/RFQs, and evaluate vendor proposals.
Negotiate contracts or lease agreements aligned with budget and ROI objectives.
Manage vendor performance from delivery through post-purchase support.
Work closely with internal teams to prioritize urgent operational needs and strategic capital investments.
Coordinate with legal and logistics teams on contract compliance and equipment importation.
Report regularly on procurement progress, cost variances, and risk mitigation strategies.
Consolidate suppliers where appropriate to leverage volume discounts and standardized agreements.
Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements such as ITAR and EAR.
Track and report performance metrics related to cost savings, delivery timelines, and asset utilization.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field.
5+ years of experience in combined MRO and CAPEX procurement, preferably in solar PV, semiconductor, or heavy manufacturing industries.
Demonstrated success managing high-value CAPEX projects ($500K+).
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and procurement platforms (Ariba, Coupa).
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and financial analysis skills.
Knowledge of applicable safety and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, IEC, GAAP)
Annual salary: $66,000 – $89,000
Bonus: Up to 10% annual bonus eligibility
