Job summary

AdventHealth in Celebration, FL is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in MRI to perform high-quality MRI examinations. You will educate patients on procedures, position patients safely, and monitor for adverse reactions while maintaining meticulous EMR/PACS documentation.

The role requires ARMRIT or RT(MR) credentials path and BLS, with 1+ year MRI radiology experience supported by appropriate training. Day-weekend schedule with 6am-6pm shifts and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • 1+ years experience in radiology MRI training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
  • Positions patients accurately and comfortably using immobilization and coil placement techniques for high-quality imaging.
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
  • Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with policies and regs.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures.
  • Maintains accurate documentation within EMR and PACS systems.
  • Performs MRI examinations per physician orders to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
  • Reviews patient history to confirm exam appropriateness and identify contraindications.
  • Screens patients and equipment for MRI safety per policy and current standards.
  • Operates imaging equipment including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for all ages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.

  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.

  • Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.

  • Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies).

  • Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation.

  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

  • Associate [Preferred]

Work Experience
  • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications
  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) [Required]OR Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist RT(MR)(ARRT) [Required] AND

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) [Required]
