Job summary

AdventHealth in Celebration, FL 34747 is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our imaging team. This full-time role involves performing high-quality MRI examinations, educating patients on procedures and safety, and maintaining strict safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program.
• ARMRIT or RT(MR)(ARRT) certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
• Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using immobilization and coil placement techniques for high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Performs daily system quality control (QC) checks per departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate documentation in EMR and PACS systems.
• Performs high-quality MRI examinations per physician orders and department protocols.
• Reviews patient history to confirm exam appropriateness and contraindications.
• Screens patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety as per policy.
• Operates imaging equipment including scanners and injectors safely across ages.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies).
• Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education
