Job summary

Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA, is seeking MRI Technologists for night shifts. The role uses radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, and requires data acquisition and analysis to support diagnosis by a licensed practitioner.

The position involves preparing and documenting medications per laws, ensuring patient safety per ALARA, and assisting with MR procedures.

Qualifications

ARRT MR certification required; ARMRIT or NMTCB MR certification preferred.
Graduated from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
Minimum 2 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

Ensures correct order is obtained, patient identified and exam prepared with confidentiality.
Utilizes imaging protocols, optimizes factors and applies ALARA for patient safety.
Preparing and/or administering medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Evaluates images for quality and ensures archival storage/transfer of data.
Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
Applying MR safety to minimize risk to patient and staff.
Assisting licensed practitioner with MR procedures.
Performing MR imaging procedures as prescribed.
Selecting pulse sequences with established protocols.
Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities.
Fully proficient in routine and complex duties.
Participates in quality or process improvement activities.
