Job summary

Geisinger requires an MRI Technologist at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA, to perform MRI procedures and assist licensed practitioners. You will prepare patients, adhere to safety protocols, and contribute to data acquisition and quality control.

With ARRT MR or ARMRIT credentials, you will work in a collaborative, educational environment. The role may include supervising students and supporting department quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• ARRT MR certification or ARMRIT MR credentials.
• CNMT certification preferred or ARRT MR certification by NMTCB.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Radiologic Technology specialty training required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient properly identified and prepared for exam.
• Utilizes imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while prioritizing safety (ALARA).
• Preparing and/or administering medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for quality and verifies archival storage/transfer of data.
• Educates and monitors students and other health care providers.
• Applies magnetic resonance safety principles to minimize risk to patient and staff.
• Assists licensed practitioner with MR procedures.
• Performs MR imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
