Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Registered MRI Technologist to maintain safety in the MRI environment and perform routine MRI procedures according to safety protocols. The role also serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

You will work with a team to ensure high-quality imaging, adhere to regulatory standards, and support department operations while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Required – High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with MRI procedures is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Operates imaging equipment independently according to protocol.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission for diagnostic quality.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
