Job summary

Ochsner Health seeks an MRI Technologist responsible for performing routine MRI procedures with emphasis on patient safety and protocol compliance. The role includes mentoring junior staff and ensuring image quality across a busy radiology department.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months MRI experience, ARRT or unrestricted state licensure, BLS, and imaging certifications. A flexible schedule and travel between facilities are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months MRI clinical scanning experience required.
• ARRT registered or unlimited state license required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• Advanced MRI certification within 2 years of employment preferred.
• Clinical imaging field certification (e.g., ARDMS, NMTCB) encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Operate imaging equipment per protocol and place IV as needed.
• Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Maintain quality control procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Support departmental operations (inventory, staffing, equipment maintenance).
• Adapt communication and approach to diverse patient populations.
