Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to perform routine and specialized MRI exams and present images for radiologist review.

You will position patients, start IVs for contrast when needed, assess image quality, and follow aseptic technique and radiation safety guidelines. On-call availability within one hour and ARRT registration (MR preferred) are required or must be obtained within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school or college with certificate or degree in Radiology Technology.
• ARRT registered.
• ARRT MR preferred upon hire or must become registry eligible for ARRT MR within 1 year of hire and must complete registry within the 6 months following.
• BCLS required within 30 days of start date.
• 2-3 years MRI experience preferred.
• On Call required and must have the ability to report to the facility within one hour of call back.

Responsibilities

• The MRI Technologist performs routine and specialized magnetic resonance imaging of organs, organ systems and blood flow studies.
• The MRI Tech presents images and patient information/history to the Radiologist so that a comprehensive diagnostic report is available to referring physician.
• You will compassionately assist and position patients.
• You will start IVs for contrast injection when necessary.
• You will assess image quality and make adjustments when necessary.
• You will releasepatientswith proper post procedure instructions.
• You will turn over and preparethe roomusing aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment.
• You will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
