Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to support the diagnostics imaging team. You will review paperwork, transport patients, monitor equipment, explain procedures, and position patients for optimal images in a busy hospital.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited MRI program, ARRT MR certification, current TMB/general radiology license, and BLS certification. Join a trusted, expansive health system serving West Houston communities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MRI program is required.
• ARRT (MR) certification is required.
• Current TMB license or general radiologic technologist license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and complete paperwork for each patient, including exam scheduling and records.
• Transport patients to and from rooms and ER as needed.
• Monitor MRI equipment for mechanical safety and operation.
• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Position patients and adjust immobilization devices for optimal views.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• You will be responsible for reviewing and completing appropriate paperwork on every patient as required including exam, scheduling, physician orders, department logs, imaging records, consents, medical records, and patient charges.
• You will be responsible for transporting patients to and from their rooms and ER.
• You will be responsible for monitoring the equipment for mechanical safety.
• You will be responsible for explaining procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• You will be responsible for positioning patients on examining table and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified are of body requested by Physician.
• You will work as a team player and meet the needs of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Graduate of an accredited MRI program is required.
• ARRT (MR) required
• Current TMB license/general medical rad tech
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
