The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing complex and technical imaging and general radiology procedures, adhering to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on patient contact level.

Responsibilities

• Performs all body imaging and diagnostic procedures involved in MRI.
• Assists/Performs equipment calibration and quality control procedures in a timely manner.
• Positions/transfers patients safely, maintaining patient safety and physical requirements.
• Assists radiologists with in-depth procedures.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
• Provides radiology support across all imaging modalities.
• Administers radiographic contrast per physician request and departmental policies.
• Prepares for IV insertion, including IV prep, insertion, and positioning, following aseptic techniques.

Reports to the Lead CT/MRI Technologist or Operations Manager/Director. This role involves moderate exposure to hazards such as infections, blood and body fluids, radiation, chemicals, and potential for bodily injury. Safety precautions are strictly followed.

Qualifications

• Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required within 12 months of hire.
• Current CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written).
