An established industry player is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join their team. The MRI Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed magnetic resonance imaging for diagnosis.
Day to Day
Perform the technical aspects of MRI/MRA displaying quality and proficiency and demonstrate job knowledge by selecting correct acquisition parameters.
Perform daily calibrations and record results. Select appropriate coil to reduce noise, increase signal and maximize resolution.
Review physician orders with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained as required.
Ensure the safety of the patient, assess their condition to determine the proper handling and special requirements.
Obtain and review patient history, explain procedures to patients/families, and answer questions to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation.
Recognize clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with the exam and take appropriate action.
Administer parenteral contrast agents safely and demonstrate safety and job knowledge in this area.
Evaluate patient lab values (BUN, CR, Pregnancy, Glucose) to ensure they are within normal limits when applicable.
Disinfect and maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas, inspecting daily for hazards or malfunctions and reporting issues immediately.
Maintain supply levels and conduct quality control checks.
Practice aseptic techniques and adhere to hospital policies on body substance isolation.
Input and verify all data in PACS/RIS systems.
Monitor patient's vital signs and medical equipment during procedures.
