Job summary

Envision Imaging in Lafayette, LA seeks a PRN MRI Technologist to join our team. The role is per diem with a pay range of $34.55–$44.54 per hour. You will perform MRI procedures, prep patients, and ensure image quality for radiologist interpretation.

Responsibilities include patient education, equipment maintenance, protocol coordination with radiologists, and adherence to safety and compliance programs. Minimum 2+ years MRI experience preferred; ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification and CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions/explanation of procedure to obtain best image.
• Reviews patient charts for missing information and screens for implants, allergies, etc.
• Obtains prior films and performs high quality scans for radiologist interpretation.
• Completes exams while attending to patient care and notifies if condition changes.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintains and inspects equipment and reports issues.
• Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center Manager on concerns.
• Attends staff meetings and adheres to Compliance, Quality & Safety Programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Envision Imaging is looking for a PRN MRI Technologist to join our team in Lafayette!
This is a PRN, as needed position | Position Pay Range $34.55 - $44.54

Summary/Objective:

Performs MRI procedures according to protocol and age specific needs, including patient preparation. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.

2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.

3. Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.

4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.

5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.

6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.

7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.

8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

9. Attends regular staff meetings and adheres to Envision’s Compliance, Quality & Safety Programs.

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often require work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two plus years’ experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) – preferred

• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed

• Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately

• Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment

Education/Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program

• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification with Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or current American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)

• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)

• Current CPR certification
