Job Summary

Envision Imaging is looking for a PRN MRI Technologist to join our team in Lafayette!

This is a PRN, as needed position | Position Pay Range $34.55 - $44.54

Ideal coverage availability includes weekday evenings 5PM-9PM and Saturdays 7AM-3PM

Summary

Performs MRI procedures according to protocol and age-specific needs, including patient preparation. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.

Essential Functions

• Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
• Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent.
• Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
• Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high-quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
• Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
• Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
• Attends regular staff meetings and adheres to Envision’s Compliance, Quality & Safety Programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification with Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or current American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR certification
