Job Description Summary

Coordinates and performs the MRI cases for patients. Operates MRI scanner and Radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment. Observes MRI and radiation safety rules concerning patients, co-workers, self and others.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  1. Manages all information obtained with strict confidentiality to safeguard patient information from use by unauthorized personnel.
  2. Follows Southeast Health Center’s safety guidelines for self, patients, visitors, and employees.
  3. Follows Southeast Health Center’s infection prevention policies.
  4. Independently handles communications in a manner, which decreases conflict.
  5. Ensures MRI safety.
  6. Initiates counseling and disciplinary action in a timely and supportive manner.
  7. Uses the PACS System in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care.
  8. Uses the computer system correctly in charging the correct patient account with correct exams and supplies.
  9. Demonstrates the ability to perform all exams in the department. Has taken the initiative to ensure one’s own competency with each exam.
  10. Demonstrates competency in performing laboratory Point of Care testing.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience Required

  1. Must be Registered as a MRI Technologist by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 2 years of hire.

Minimum Experience Preferred

  1. Registered as a MRI Technologist by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  2. Minimum three (3) years of MRI experience.
  3. Graduate of a radiology program approved by the ARRT, ARDMS, or NMTCB.
  4. CPR Certification.
  5. Completion of an undergraduate degree.
  6. ACLS Certification.

Required Skills/Abilities

  1. Basic typing and computer skills.
  2. Experience in operating personal computers in a Windows environment.
  3. Customer service oriented.
  4. Annual completion of competency requirements.
  5. Call support to the hospital within 30 minutes of notification.
