Job summary

SimonMed Imaging in Torrance, CA is seeking an MRI Technologist to produce high‑resolution diagnostic images with precision, safety and compassion. You will apply MRI physics, select techniques per orders, and verify results before radiologist review.

You uphold MRI safety, monitor patients, manage workflow, perform routine QC, and maintain documentation in PACS. The role emphasizes autonomous work, mentorship of staff and students, and a collaborative path across our outpatient imaging network.

Qualifications

• ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required.
• Valid state licensure current (where required).
• Hands-on CPR/BLS certified and current.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic or MRI Technology program.
• 1+ year of experience in a high-volume MRI environment preferred.
• MRI safety zones and screening protocols second nature.
• Proficiency in PACS and imaging software systems.
• Confident in contrast administration and contraindication assessment.
• Strong communication skills with patients, physicians, and teammates.
• Calm under pressure and sharp under a deadline.
• Willingness to mentor staff and students and contribute to a positive clinical culture.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners to produce high-resolution diagnostic images, selecting imaging techniques per orders and patient condition.
• Evaluate your own work before radiologist review; apply MRI physics and anatomy knowledge.
• Maintain strict MRI safety standards; screen for contraindications and monitor patients.
• Proficient in PACS and imaging software; ensure clean, complete documentation.
• Manage your workflow; perform routine quality control and equipment maintenance.
• Provide compassionate patient care with clear explanations and calm demeanor.
