Job summary

McAlester Regional Health Center seeks an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, produce high-quality images, and ensure patient safety. You will work closely with radiologists to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning in a hospital setting.

Minimum qualifications include completion of an accredited MRI technologist program, valid state licensure in the US, and ARRT MRI certification or eligibility. Prior imaging experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program.
  • Current ARRT MRI certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Valid state licensure to practice as an MRI Technologist in the United States.
  • Strong understanding of MRI physics, anatomy, and imaging protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and patient care standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for MRI scans, explaining procedures to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation.
  • Operate MRI scanners to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to prescribed protocols and safety standards.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure their safety and comfort, responding promptly to any adverse reactions or issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate MRI equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to review images for quality and provide necessary technical information.
  • Document patient information, imaging procedures, and observations accurately in medical records.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control, radiation safety, and patient confidentiality policies.
