Job summary

Wheeling Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform advanced MRI procedures and support physicians in diagnosis. The role requires WV MRI licensure or MRI apprentice status, ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification, and BLS within 30 days.

The candidate will work in a magnetic-field environment with adherence to safety standards and patient-centered care. Responsibilities include patient prep, exam performance, PACS processing, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Must hold WV MRI license or MRI Apprentice license.
• ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification required; if MRI ARRT not held on hire, within 12 months.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• State and federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and explains exams to patients.
• Performs all exams in specialty areas.
• Maintains current knowledge of procedures in specialty areas.
• Maintains safety in the magnetic field as required by manufacturer.
• Assists physician during specialty exams.
• Processes exams and makes them available on PACS.
• Delivers safe care and participates in staff development.
• Educates orientees, ancillary staff, and students as needed.
