Job summary

Dartmouth Health in New Hampshire is seeking an MRI technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures, maintain equipment, and manage supplies. The candidate must be ARRT registered, AMA‑approved trained, CPR certified, licensed by the NH Board, and have at least one year of experience.

Part‑time position with Wednesday and Friday 9am–9pm shifts; salary range and benefits are described in the posting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• 1 year of experience required.
• Registered with the ARRT.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
• Licensed by the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Maintains equipment and supplies.
• Reviews medical records for patient history and pertinent information. Reviews requisition with physician. Administers contrast material via IV line and manages hypersensitivity risks.
• Evaluates images and sends to PACS; performs multi‑plane reconstructions and archiving; selects and forwards pertinent data to physician.
• Performs calibration checks, cleaning, minor maintenance, and logs problems and usage; maintains wall units and ambu cords; orders supplies and trains staff.

PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

• Position Objective:
  • Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Maintains equipment and supplies.
• Performance Expectation:
  1. Reviews medical record for patient history and pertinent information. Reviews requisition with physician. Administers contrast material by means of existing IV line or by performing veno puncture and placing an IV line. Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction. Evaluates images and send to PACS.
  2. Scans and reviews data on disk. Performs multi-plane reconstructions. Performs archive function. Selects & photographs pertinent data and forward to physician.
  3. Reviews studies for overall quality. Illuminates any problems noted which were not part 3. of initial exam.
  4. Performs calibration check on equipment. Cleans and performs minor maintenance procedures. Logs problems and usage.
  5. Maintains wall units and ambu cord. Orders and maintains supplies.
  6. Instructs medical staff and technologists in unit's operations.
  7. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
