Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI exams using 3T, mobile, and upright systems. You will support protocol choices, ensure safety and accuracy, and educate patients to enhance cooperation and comfort throughout imaging sessions.

Qualifications

• Must be ARRT registered (R), required.
• Must be ARMRIT registered or obtain within 1 year in this position.
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either through AHA or ARC recognition.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients across all age groups, including neonates and geriatrics.
• Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently to obtain diagnostic-quality images for physician interpretation.
• Utilize all available MRI resources and protocols to ensure accurate and timely imaging services.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients regarding MRI procedures to promote comfort and cooperation.
• Adhere to safety standards, infection control, and MRI-specific protocols.
• Monitor patients and respond to needs during examinations.
• Maintain patient records and documentation per department and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses and other staff to provide exceptional patient care.
• Ensure proper care, maintenance, and quality control of MRI equipment and work areas.

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
