Job summary

Akumin seeks an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MR studies on-site or remotely, ensuring patient safety and clear communication with radiologists and the care team.

The role includes training new technologists and MR assistants, operating multiple MR systems as needed, and delivering excellent diagnostic imaging while working across mobile environments. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• Technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
• MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: No experience required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient safety and pre-screening for contraindications.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images; may operate multiple MR systems.
• Communicates effectively with Radiologists, patients, and team members.
• Trains and orients new technologists, at on-site or remote locations.
• Works in mobile environments and may require supervision of MRI assistants.
• Other duties as assigned.
