Job summary

ARRT/ARMRIT certification and MRI proficiency are required, with advanced MR certification anticipated within one year. Work hours include Friday to Sunday and occasional weekday shifts; onsite employment with UNC Health benefits and a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
• Must be registered with ARRT/ARMRIT or registry eligible and provide diploma if registry eligible.
• Advanced MR certification within one year of employment and maintenance of registry status annually.

Responsibilities

• Identify and reassure patients, verify identity, obtain history and ensure patient safety.
• Operate MRI equipment, select scanning parameters, and troubleshoot protocols and equipment.
• Administer intravenous and oral contrast per protocol and assess eligibility and labs prior to injection.
• Transmit and verify images via PACS/EMR, ensure accurate charge and demographic data.
• Precept new staff and students, maintain a clean, organized work area, and support quality imaging.
