Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an MRI Technologist II Acute to join our REMARKABLE acute care team at Mint Hill Medical Center. The role involves preparing patients and safely operating MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting, across inpatient, outpatient, ED and OR environments.

The candidate will support physicians, with ARRT MR registration within 6 months of hire, and ideally have 1 year of MR experience. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2-year program in Radiologic Technology.
• Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography or MR program.
• Minimum 1 year MR experience preferred.
• NH Medical Center-Certified and ARRT MR registration within 6 months of hire; state license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in MR procedures; prepare patient and operate MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans in acute settings.
• Work across inpatient, outpatient, ED and OR; include trauma imaging as needed.

What You'll Do

The MRI Technologist II Acute will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and safely operating the MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting. The acute technologist is responsible for inpatient, outpatient, the emergency department & the operating room procedures to include trauma imaging or specialized imaging for patients with implants. The technologist must possess the skills and competencies necessary to work effectively across a variety of clinical settings and is expected to either regularly work in, or rotate through, an acute care facility as part of their ongoing responsibilities.

What We're Looking For

• Education:2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:NH Medical Center-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) within 6 months of hire, required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement, required. Applicable state license, required.
• Additional Skills (required):Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
