Job summary

Novant Health’s MRI Technologist II Acute at Matthews Medical Center provides diagnostic MR imaging for acute care patients. The role involves patient preparation, operating MR equipment, and assisting physicians across inpatient, ED, and OR procedures.

Schedule includes Saturday/Sunday, 7am-7:30pm and Thursday night 6:00pm-6:30am with holidays/call. Requires ARRT MR certification, 2-year degree (associate), and at least 1 year MR experience.

Qualifications

• Two-year/Associate degree required; ARRT MR program or MR training preferred.
• Minimum of one year MR experience recommended.
• Thorough knowledge of MRI equipment and safe operation.
• Analytical ability and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and safely operate MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting.
• Assist physicians in diagnostic/therapeutic MR procedures across inpatient, outpatient, ED and OR.

What You’ll Do

The MRI Technologist II Acute will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and safely operating the MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting. The acute technologist is responsible for inpatient, outpatient, the emergency department & the operating room procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification (required:
  • NH Medical Center-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) within 6 months of hire, required.
  • Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement, required.
  • Applicable state license, required.
• Additional Skills/Requirements (required):Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
