Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a PRN Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist to join our REMARKABLE acute care team in the Charlotte region. This role focuses on performing high-quality MRI exams and providing compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT MR certification (registered within 6 months of hire), has 1+ year MR experience, and demonstrates strong communication and attention to detail to support physicians and ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2-year imaging program preferred.
• Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography or MR program required or within hiring window.
• Minimum 1 year MR experience preferred.
• State license and ARRT MR certification as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI diagnostic exams in an acute care setting.
• Work closely with physicians to deliver critical patient care.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort with professionalism and empathy.
• The MRI Technologist assists physicians by preparing patients and safely operating MR equipment to obtain quality diagnostic scans.

What We’re Looking For

What You’ll Do

The MRI Technologist assists physicians in performing diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing patients and safely operating MR equipment to obtain quality diagnostic scans.

What We’re Looking For

• Education:
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in MR, required.
  • NH Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility - Certified and Registered within 6 Months of hire in ARRT RT(R)(MR), required.
  • Hospital Outpatient Department-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR), required.
  • Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement
  • Applicable state license, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
