Qualifications

Job description

Overview

Performs general MRI examinations while maintaining safety integrity of the MRI operational area for all individuals, including staff and patients. Maintains an adequate supply inventory for examinations. Explains procedures to patients and completes departmental documentation. Performs MR Tech I responsibilities, with additional competencies in one of the following areas: Breast biopsy and/or Prostate biopsy, dual modality MR/CT Tech, or Hospital-Based/Standing ED. Knowledge in Radiologic Technology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Sonography, or Radiation Therapy.

Job Description

1. Provide quality MRI imaging to patients under the supervision of a physician, adhering to protocol standards.
2. Administer MRI contrast agents as per protocol.
3. Evaluate and approve patient MRI safety screening forms prior to scanning.
4. Maintain knowledge of MRI safety zones and regulations.
5. Review patient records for accuracy, assess implants and devices using vendor resources.
6. Act as liaison with physicians and supportive care staff.
7. Maintain patient records, reports, and files.
8. Perform MRI exams according to protocol, review images for quality and accuracy before interpretation.
9. Explain examinations and procedures to patients and complete departmental documentation.

Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT certification within 2 years of hire.

Education

• ALD Radiologic Sciences or Trade School Certificate

Certification/Licensure

• ARRT or ARMRIT certification in MR

Experience

Minimum of 1 year radiologic technologist experience.
