Overview:

Performs general MRI examinations while maintaining safety integrity of the MRI operational area for all people, including staff and customers. Maintains adequate supply inventory for examinations. Explains procedures to patients and completes departmental documentation. Performs MR Tech I responsibilities with additional competencies in Breast biopsy and/or Prostate biopsy, dual modality MR/CT Tech, or Hospital-Based/Standing ED. Knowledge in Radiologic Technology, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Sonography, or Radiation Therapy.

Job Description

Provide quality MRI imaging under the supervision of a physician, adhering to protocol standards. Duties include: administration of MRI contrast, evaluating patient safety screening forms, understanding MRI safety zones, reviewing patient records, acting as a liaison with physicians, maintaining records, performing MRI exams, reviewing images for quality, explaining procedures to patients, and completing documentation.

Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire. IV competency preferred.

Education

  • ALD Radiologic Sciences or Trade School Certificate

Certification/Licensure

  • ARRT or MR

Experience

Minimum 1 year radiologic tech experience.
