Sentara is hiring a Surgical Technologist II at Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Role Summary

The Surgical Technologist II ensures the operating room is properly prepared with necessary instruments and equipment. They assist the surgical team by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon through critical thinking. The role involves maintaining patient safety, and ensuring the surgical environment is organized, clean, and sterile. They also assist in applying dressings, securing surgical drapes, and transferring patients to recovery areas. Adherence to infection control protocols and sterile techniques is essential to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. The Surgical Technologist works closely with the surgical team for smooth procedures, serves as a role model to new staff, and demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques.

Surgical Technologist licensure is required in the state of practice.
