Qualifications

• ARRT registry in radiologic technology (two-year program)
• ARRT registry in MRI required (within two years of hire)
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection required
• Cross sectional anatomy training (on-the-job or formal)
• Associates degree required or related substitute within 3 years
• CPR certification required
• Yearly PEEPS certification for positioning and transfer of patients

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in MRI units and related systems
• Performs MRI procedures and quality control per protocols
• Conducts MRI safety screenings for patients and implants
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Joint Commission standards
• Completes imaging and non-imaging procedures within scheduled times
• Enters accurate patient study data into clinical care systems
• Assists with workflow coordination and patient care activities
• Obtains clinical history and required consent
• Verifies insurance pre-authorization before scanning
• Maintains patient confidentiality and uses two patient identifiers
• Demonstrates IV access capability and monitors patient status
• Proficient with contrast media injectors and i-STAT testing
