Job summary

University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, is seeking a qualified MRI Technologist to join the Imaging Sciences-MRI team. You will set up MRI equipment, work with imaging coils, monitor patients, troubleshoot artifacts, review safety forms, and contribute to teaching and mentoring of students and new staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Maintains NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and utilizes all MRI equipment including imaging coils, patient monitoring systems, and related articles.
• Evaluate image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters.
• Identifies and compensates for imaging artifacts.
• Reviews MRI registration and screening form thoroughly in order to confirm safe access into magnet room.
• Assists in training new MRI technologists and students.
• Performing all filming, archiving and PACS network data management for each patient scanned.
• Retrieves old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking.
• Master new techniques with each subsequent scanner upgrade.
• Maintains CE credits and ARRT/NYS license.
• Communicates all pertinent patient information to necessary staff.
