Job summary

Qualifications

• Formal radiologic technology training is required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and utilizes MRI equipment including imaging coils and patient monitoring systems.
• Evaluates image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters.
• Identifies and compensates for imaging artifacts.
• Reviews MRI registration and screening forms for safe access to the magnet room.
• Assists in training new MRI technologists and students.
• Performs filming, archiving and PACS data management for each patient scanned.
• Retrieves old MRI data for restoration and networking and masters new techniques with scanner upgrades.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to staff.

Education

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
