Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) is seeking a dedicated MRI technologist to provide high-quality imaging services at our Carbondale facility. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and efficient patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate degree in Radiology, ARRT MR certification within one year, and BLS certification, with at least one year of technical imaging experience and CT exposure.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiology required.
• ARRT RT(R)(MR) MRI certification within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• 1 year technical experience; CT experience of 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and explain exams to patients.
• Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology related to imaging.
• Perform imaging procedures per patient status, requests, and protocols.
• Ensure MRI safety precautions for patients, families and staff.
• Educate patients about MRI procedures and contrast media.
• Process exams and make results available on PACS.
