Job Responsibilities
- Obtains quality MRI images of patients, following established scanning protocols and adjusting protocols as required.
- Complies with MRI safety guidelines for patients and self, utilizes protective equipment when appropriate, and operates the MRI scanner safely and competently. Ensures patient safety by screening for contraindications such as, but not limited to, cardiac pacemakers, sheet‑metal fragments, shrapnel, jewelry, wallet, and metal prostheses.
- Performs all necessary computer operations (e.g., Meditech and PACS), ensuring proper charges are entered and referring physicians’ orders are verified.
- Provides patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepares examination rooms for MRI procedures, monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation, and maintains room cleanliness and neat appearance.
- Proficiently obtains IV access and administers contrast agents.
- Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) and completes the verification process in PACS.
- Assists the PACS Administrator and MRI Supervisor with PACS cleanup, including unarchived images and unspecified items.
- Completes and maintains educational requirements.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information in accordance with policy and procedure.
Job Qualifications
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree or equivalent in Radiological Technology required.
- Knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and MRI concepts, including head, neck, body, MSK, and spine imaging.
Certification/Licensure Requirements
- FL State Registered Radiologic Technician license.
- ARRT (MR) certification required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience required; 3 years MRI experience preferred.
Shift Schedule
- Evenings, Nights, and weekend day schedules.
Salary Range
(2 yr) – $29.89, (5 yr) – $32.36, (10 yr) – $36.95, (17 yr max) – $39.76
On Call: As needed
Call Back: 2‑hour minimum; time and a half
Sign On: $5,000
Relocation Assistance: Yes, if eligible
Shift Differentials: Night – $5; Weekend – $5
