Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved radiologic technology program or MR imaging program.
• High school diploma may be considered in lieu of formal training in some cases.
• ARRT MR certification or ARMRIT MRI certification required within 180 days of hire; BLS on hire.
• Fundamental knowledge of MRI safety and patient care practices.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and MR technique.
• Prepare patients for MRI procedures and address patient needs during examinations.
• Perform venipuncture and manage intravenous access; administer medications as prescribed.
• Select pulse sequences per established protocols and acquisition parameters.
• Evaluate MR images for quality and correct patient identification.
• Adhere to MR safety guidelines and screen individuals accordingly.
• Apply MR safety principles to minimize risk to patients, staff and self.
• Identify emergencies and respond appropriately.
• Engage in ongoing QA and educational activities; mentor students and staff.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned and meet department needs.
