Rochester Regional Health in Canandaigua, NY is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate the MRI scanner, deliver high-quality cross-sectional images, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout exams.

The role requires ARRT-R, NYS Radiologic Tech license or permit, BLS, and strong communication skills; you will educate patients, document in EMR, and participate in on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.
• New Graduates: Official transcript or registrar's letter accepted on graduation.
• Primary source education verification required within 90 days of start date.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR NYS permit with licensure within 6 months.
• ARRT-R certification required within 6 months of employment.
• NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment.
• If hired on/before 9/13/2021, injection certification required by 9/1/2022.
• BLS Certification within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI procedures with patient safety in mind.
• Educates patients regarding procedures and maintains a safe, comfortable environment.
• Maintains timely, proper service during unsupervised shifts.
• Provides on-call coverage for MRI Section of Radiology.
• Documents exams and procedures in Radiant Care Connect EMR.
• Cleans, restocks and prepares rooms daily.
• Delivers excellent customer service.
• Verifies patient ID and orders; consults with radiologist as needed.
• Administers IV contrast media with competency demonstrated.
• Trained in PACS software and transfers imaging data.
• Follows radiologist orders for imaging and contrast administration.
• Documents orders verbally in the EMR.
• Collaborates with other modalities for patient flow.
• Performs transport duties as needed.
• Monitors patient status and notifies care team of changes.
• Maintains MRI equipment and accessories.
• All other duties as assigned.
