Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, ensure patient safety, train staff, and manage imaging data. This full-time position in Rochester requires completing MRI procedures, maintaining quality control, and following safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology is required.
  • CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist license in NYS upon hire and ARRT Radiography Certification with CE credits upon hire are required.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and utilizes MRI equipment including imaging coils and patient monitoring systems.
  • Evaluates image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters.
  • Identifies and compensates for imaging artifacts.
  • Reviews MRI registration and screening forms to confirm safe access into the magnet room.
  • Assists in training new MRI technologists and students.
  • Performs filming, archiving and PACS data management for each patient scanned.
  • Retrieves old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking.
  • Master new techniques with scanner upgrades.
  • Communicates pertinent patient information to necessary staff.
  • Receives training and supervision from senior technologists.
