Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Woodbury, MN is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our imaging team at Woodwinds Hospital. This casual, as-needed role offers day, evening, night, and weekend shifts to fit your schedule.

You will provide patient care by producing diagnostic images, maintaining safety, and communicating results to health care professionals. Required ARRT Certification and Basic Life Support; MRI certification within 1–1.5 years is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARRT Certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross) is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient care and provides MRI imaging services.
• Performs examinations and ensures accurate data from images.
• Communicates pertinent data clearly to health care professionals.
• Ensures patient safety and emergency preparedness.
• Documents patient information and ensures proper image tagging.
• Operates and maintains MRI equipment and optimizes use.
• Participates in training of students and new staff.

Job Overview

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an MRI Technologist to join our imaging team at our Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN! This is a casual position that will work as needed by the department. There are day/evening/night/weekend shifts available to pick up.

*If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm – 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.

*If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 11pm – 7am, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $8.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.

The MRI Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians by creating patient specific diagnostic images. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient care
• Performs examinations
• Identifies relevant data from images accurately
• Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.
• Ensures patient safety and emergency preparedness
• Documents patient information
• Ensures proper film identification on all images
• Accurately completes computer functions-edits, status changes, logging
• Accurate film marking and jacket preparation
• Achieves quality diagnostic images by use of proper positioning of patients and correct operation of equipment.
• Performs training and education duties
• Participates in the orientation of new employees.
• Responsible for the training of students
• Participates in the training of health care professionals and new employees.
• Maintains equipment
• Correctly operates equipment
• Optimizes use of equipment
• Understands the structure visualized and its significance

Required Qualifications

• ARRT Certification
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience
• Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
• MRI Certification within 1-1/2 Yrs
